The Future Of Technology Is Moving At Rapid Speed

The Future Of Technology Is Moving At Rapid Speed

Looking at the future is not an easy thing to do when it comes to technology. What seemed like science fiction only a few short years ago is standard operating procedure currently. Nobody would have thought or even envisioned 20 years ago that individuals would be toting around telephones in their front pockets that are practically as powerful as a home computer.

Nobody would have imagined how much they do with the power of these telephones for day to day things like bill paying and keeping in touch and even GPS. Phones are only a portion of what remarkable technology we all live with, in nowadays. Each day there’s new to blow our minds and make us realize that the limitations that we see are bound to be shattered soon. You find it in our phones and our entertainment technology in addition to the vehicles that we drive.

There are cars which have everything that you could ever imagine that you would need. Cars have automatic seats and windows and they have heated steering wheels and seats and a few of them can also park themselves. They have cameras and sensors built into the bumpers to see what’s behind you as you back up the car and will send an alarm if you close your eyes and veer off the road.

And what’s even more astounding is that these technological marvels are not only available of the most expensive car models and brands available. These are technologies that are obtainable to many more people than could have been dreamed of. Soon it might be common to see 3D television built into the headrests of some of the more expensive SUVs and luxury cars. After all, we need to be entertained to the full extent of our abilities at every moment of every single day.

Actually, it’s a good thing to at times power down the devices for a short while. Nobody ought to be connected at every waking moment of each day. You should slip from the grid once in a while for your own peace of mind. If you make it a practice of unplugging once in a while, it will not be such a shock every now and again when it happens without your prior approval. Every once in a while you are unable to acquire that signal to power your device and it’s a good way not to panic.

Stealth Technology Competition

Stealth Technology Competition

The country of China is in the process of developing its first stealth fighter jet, the J-20 . As of yet, the craft has not been tested in the air. An air test is expected to take place as early as Jan. 6, 2011. It will still be several years before the aircraft is ready for a military operation, according to US intelligence officials.

It is not certain why the pictures of this aircraft have been leaked at this time, but it is supposed that it is due to the planned visit of Defense Secretary Robert Gates later this week. Pentagon officials are claiming that the Pentagon is not strategically concerned at this time, as it is expected that the new aircraft will not be combat-ready for about another 10 years. They state there is a major difference in having an aircraft built as a prototype and then incorporating all the fifth-generation technology that goes along with it. The prototype can be likened to an empty shell, ready to fill with the technology the customer desires. The various technologies must then be linked so that the entire system runs smoothly.

The United States currently has the F-22 Raptor, which is unique in its capabilities of escaping detection by enemy radar. Designer Lockheed Martin is in the development phase of a newer model, the F-35. Recent actions from China may spur Lockheed Martin and the US Defense Department to speed up the production of the new US aircraft.

United States officials are primarily concerned over China’s development of anti-ship ballistic missiles. These missiles could target US aircraft carriers and deter our country’s strategic readiness. A US Defense Department report released late in 2010 indicated “The limited transparency in China’s military and security affairs enhances uncertainty and increases the potential for misunderstanding and miscalculation.”

Another study released last year by the Rand Corporation hinted that the willingness and ability of China to advance its military prowess is largely influenced by the battle for control of Taiwan. This will definitely be a topic of concern, and the Pentagon will be watching to make sure that our strategic stature is not jeopardized.

As a military veteran, I can say that the United States is very effective in keeping up with and advancing military equipment and technology. Despite recent budget cuts, our country’s military spending is still ample to make sure that we remain protected. The challenge will be to keep our eye on observed potential of other nations in regard to threatening our status as a force to be reckoned with.

Laser Marking Technology

Marking is the method used in industries to make the identification marks on all products. The marking is made on the surfaces of these products as they can identify with the identification badge made on it. It is possible now a day to mark on all metal surfaces and all products. The marking or the identification processes involves printing the details of a product such as the details regarding the product name, brand mane, company seal, logos, manufacturing and expiry date, contents etc. In the past it has been used the manual method of marking with tools which takes more time and the marking made on the product surfaces are not accurate. Presently the laser technology is used in marking process as the lasers as high efficient enough to penetrate on any surfaces it can be used for precise marking. The laser marking technology is the widely used and convenient method of printing the identification marks on all metal surfaces and all products.

The main purpose Laser marking is to make the accurate printing. The identification marks which being made on the products surfaces will not go unless otherwise the product surface is scratched or break. Thus the laser marking system is termed as the more accurate and precise marking technology. Many industries, engineering and manufacturing companies are using the laser marking system. The method of marking on all metal surfaces with using the high penetrative and accurate laser beams are a convenient method. The laser marking tools are widely used for the identification process in all manufacturing and engineering industries. The laser marking equipments or tools allows you to simply make marking or identification sign on both soft and hard metal surfaces. All metal surfaces including the carbides, wood etc are successively marking with the help of laser marking equipments.

As the Laser marking is a permanent marking method on the surfaces of many metals the laser marked prints will never fade or erase from the object surfaces. The system of printing on metal surfaces needs to take care of using the laser beams. As the laser beams cause damages when contact with the eyes, so care should be taken while using the laser marking equipments and tools for precise marking process. The laser marking equipments are easy to make marking on objects of all sizes including the small to large objects like on the surface of chips, small circuit boards, keypads of mobile phone, calculator, computer keyboard, lap keyboard etc.

HTC invests $300 million in Beats technology, becomes majority stakeholder

HTC invests $300 million in Beats technology, becomes majority stakeholder

Follow me on Twitterandon Facebook

HTC is definitely no Apple, particularly when it comes to secrecy. The company announced on Thursday that it was going to integrate Beats technology (by Dr. Dre), but despite the fact it was a “major” announcement, it was already well-known.

Beats already has a deal with HP for Hewlett-Packard’s mobile devices as well as its computers. The $300 million deal gives HTC a majority stake in Beats. It will not affect Beats’ pre-existing agreement with HP.

Beats Chairman Jimmy Iovine (also CEO of Interscope Geffen A&M Records, a minority stakeholder in Beats) said, The HTC and Beats by Dr. Dre partnership is an opportunity for two world-class companies to redefine the smart phone industry and define the future. For Beats by Dr. Dre, this represents a critical step in our continued mission to clean up the destruction of audio caused by the digital revolution; and re-engineer how sound is delivered so that the consumer feels the music the way that the artist intended.

It’s not going to pull people away from iDevices and iTunes by itself, as that is a full ecosystem. Apple has “won” that market, based on the superb integration between its iDevices and iTunes, defeating even such rivals as WalMart.

On the other hand, HTC CEO Peter Chou said, With the magic of mobile devices, it is easier than ever to discover and buy new music. However, without great sound experience it is a shame. With the new move, we have to ask if HTC will change its slogan from “Quietly, brilliant” to “Loudly, brilliant.”

In addition, even iDevices need nice headsets. Beats also makes its “Beats by Dr. Dre” line of headphones with Monster, so HTC will take a chunk of any of those sales to iDevice owners, as well.

Meanwhile, it’s been our contention for sometime that Google really should invest in a solution like doubleTwist for its iTunes solution on the device and on desktops, to integrate with its Android Market. We’ve seen some devices ship with doubleTwist pre-installed, but only a limited number of handsets.

Electric Avenue of 2011 NAIAS highlights technology made in Michigan

Electric Avenue of 2011 NAIAS highlights technology made in Michigan

The 2011 North American International Auto Show’s (NAIAS) Electric Avenue has had a greater visual effect in the basement than being on the main floor of Detroits Cobo Center.

First, nearly every automaker has shown some kind of electrification even on the main floor, from hybrids to full EVs. In essence, the electrification of the automobile has become the new norm, so to speak.

All the more you have to ask yourself, why would Nissan, who recently released the Leaf, a full EV, miss the show except for some minor display in a hall way?

Down the escalator, though, a more darkened area literally looks like a road paved with illumination. You see electric bikes, solar power, wind power, log home materials, LED lighting and SPX, the company that makes the charger for the Chevy Volt.

More important to Detroit area locals is, the State of Michigan is well represented. Local companies who supply green technology are mainly featured, such as LumaSmart from Macomb Township that makes LED lighting. Even DTE Energy is there, the main supplier of electric power in southeastern Michigan.

Past the displays of Michigan-based energy technology along the roadway, there is a line to sign up for a ride in a large selection of full electric vehicles. There, youmay drive the new 2011 Chevy Volt, of which there is more than one available, along with a selection of other vehicles to numerous to mention. Be prepared with your drivers license to take a breath test.

One vehicle next to the line where you sign for the rides really caught my eye, or rather my ear. It was the most fantastic acoustic experience inside an automobile. Check put the Bongiovi Acoustics technology.

Also check outmy slideshow from this year’s Electric Avenue; that is, once Examiner’s system allows me to upload the pics.

The Evolution of Wireless Technology

May 6th, 2012

The Evolution of Wireless Technology

Twenty years ago, people would have been surprised if they could see into the future and view how much wireless technology has grown. Twenty years ago, the internet was only used by the government, and was completely foreign to most of the general public. If everyone could see where we are today with the advancements in technology twenty years ago, they would certainly know that they would be in for a huge surprise.

The evolution of wireless technology has been an astounding one. Wireless technology can take on many faces and forms. For instance, wireless technology was originally used in cell phones and for internet access. Cell phones were quite a luxury item, and were used to relieve the caller from having to be in a central location to use a telephone. People were able to call from their cars, while shopping at the grocery store, and while just lounging around. As cell phones became a must on the market, the technology, ease of portability and features of the cell phone grew to adapt to the needs of its users. Today, cell phones are almost everywhere, as they are often highly affordable, and the plan rates are plentiful. Many families have cell phone packages for their entire family so that they talk to one another while all in the same system. Indeed, the evolution of the cell phone has been an interesting wave to watch, and to keep watching as it makes leaps and bounds every year.

Cellular pagers, which are essentially a thing of the past, were once on the waistlines of people everywhere. Individuals would call a pager number, receive an answering system, and then leave a telephone number or a text message to the receiver. The other user on the receiving end would acquire the message via the paging device and would be able to return the call at their leisure. This form of paging people was wide spread, and was an easier way to contact those on the go well before cell phones were on the market.

WiFi is perhaps the hottest form of wireless technology that is available today. WiFi is a wireless internet system that works off of a main networking router. Many people enjoy taking their laptop computers to their favorite restaurant, book store and coffeehouse to not only be a customer, but to partake in the activities of the internet while visiting. This has made for better customer service for the restaurant, as well as customers appreciating all of the WiFi that their company has to offer.

Clearly, the evolution of wireless technology has been on an awesome ride for well over a decade. The future is growing ever rapidly, and one can only be curious as to what it will hold in the means of wireless technology. As long as there are consumers that are eager to purchase such said items, there will be a constant thriving for better and faster wireless technology.

The Effects of Food Technology

May 6th, 2012

The Effects of Food Technology

The use of food technology or the application of food science to everyday food processes and production contributes to the ever-improving quality of food and the efficiency with which it is processed and prepared. “Customers seldom think of the vast array of foods and research and development that has resulted in tasty, nutritious, safe, and convenient foods,” the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) reports.

Processing

Processing food involves changing its chemical properties in order to preserve it or improve its taste. “Chemical, biological, and mechanical processes are used to convert relatively bulky, perishable, and typically inedible food materials into shelf-stable, convenient, and palatable foods and beverages,” according to the IFT. Through research, food technology allows for improvements on the mechanisms used to process foods in order to retain nutrients, contribute to a longer shelf life, and to make food taste better.

Storing

Food technology explores better ways to store food for longer-lasting quality and usability. The development of temperature-controlled storage spaces has paved the way for the efficient storage of perishable items, which last longer and taste better.

Preparing

Food can now be prepared more quickly. The microwave was developed to thaw and cook foods efficiently while retaining their flavors. Food technology research has contributed to government regulations concerning how to prepare food properly in order to prevent food poisoning or salmonella.
